Once your writing is out there, it has to be perfect.

Whatever publication type you're preparing for, an experienced editor can ensure it's fit for purpose. I work with novelists to polish and position their words to create the intended impact and flow. Understanding tone, syntax and language allows me to shape existing text into its ideal form.

Don't get me wrong - this isn't about forcing original content to fit a generic mould. My skill lies in preserving the integrity of the work and instead carefully adjusting and arranging it to focus the reader.

It might involve condensing where the work requires a particular word count or will pack a bigger punch. In some cases, all that is required is correcting spelling and grammar to improve the way it reads. Working closely with a client helps form a clear idea of expectations from the outset.
